We pride ourselves on providing high-quality construction at the best economic value, completing every project safely, within budget, and on time.

Our success comes from doing what we know best — delivering exceptional results through hard work, technical knowledge, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Company History

From Local Builder to Industry Leader

J & P Construction Co., Inc. was established in February 1963 by C.R. “Brat” Jamison and Phillip M. Phillips. After Phillips’ passing in 1969, Jamison continued to grow the company, leading it from a small general construction business into a specialized infrastructure contractor serving the Southeast.

By 1970, J & P shifted its focus exclusively to water and wastewater treatment plants and industrial construction, a specialization that continues to define J & P today.

The 1990s marked a new era of leadership. In 1995, Thomas Jamison and Barry Atkinson took on executive roles as Vice President and Vice President of Engineering & Estimating, respectively. Upon the retirement of Charles R. Jamison in 1997, Thomas D. Jamison stepped into the role of President and Barry Atkinson into the role of Vice President guiding the company into the new millennium.

In March 2014, the executive team transitioned again to better serve a growing market: Thomas D. Jamison was named CEO, Barry Atkinson assumed the role of President, and Robert Meriwether was appointed Vice President. Today, J & P remains dedicated to the foundational principles of excellence and integrity established by its founders over 60 years ago.
